Through their lyrics, the great songwriters of the 1960s and 1970s documented some of the most complex and fascinating times in American history. Instead of dashing off pop songs about teenage love, these musicians composed eloquent songs that reflected the political and cultural upheaval going on around them. Take a journey through those two tumultuous decades in which musicians emerged as the great poets of their generation. Music enthusiast ROBERT MCGEE serves on the board of the New Jersey Jazz Society and is a volunteer at WBGO radio, SOPAC, Outpost in the Burbs and the Wellmont Theater. Fee: $20.
