Break out the bellbottoms and platform shoes! The Maplewood Glee Club is going "Back to the '70s" with their annual spring concert, Sunday, May 19 at 4pm.
The chorus comprises over 60 members from dozens of North Jersey towns, and the show will feature loud ties, special guests, and the ‘70s-soaked music of Elton John, Queen, ABBA, Bruce Springsteen, Eagles, Tina Turner, and more.
The guests include not one, not two, but three choirs from Columbia High School, as well pianist Emma Wang from Livingston High School, co-recipient of the glee club’s 2024 John A. Plumer High School Scholarship.
"We can’t wait to fire up the old time machine and take you back to the days of classic rock, AM hits, disco, and pet rocks. There’s something for everyone in this show.”
Also performing will be the glee club's two small groups, the Unusual Suspects and the Doo-Wop Preservation Society, who will sing ‘70s songs from like “Ain’t No Sunshine” and a selection from the Broadway and movie hit, Grease.
“Back to the ‘70s” takes place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 767 Prospect Street in Maplewood, Sunday, May 7 at 4pm.
