Porto Falafel is the top, intimate Egyptian jazz bistro this side of the Nile -- and this incarnation of the Viva Flamenco song and dance troupe offers a healthy portion of passionate dance and deep gypsy rhythms and melodies for the “flamenco puro” aficionados, while feasting on a globe-trotting repertoire from the contemporary jazz songbook of Chick Corea and Wayne Shorter, to the gypsy jazz of Django Reinhart -- with some traditional Spanish and Afro-Cuban tunes thrown in the mix.
