A little winter sunshine...

Quick pix taken with my phone at lunchtime, 5 hours ago, around Burleigh Heads, SE Qld. Just to prove there is still sunshine, colour and warmth in the world!

(No, that's not us, just some tourists who got in the way)

next one, a second later

*sigh*

Sigh is correct.  But if it was really warm, they would have got out of the car to take the pictures.

 grrr

nah! We needed the aircon!!!!

Hey, we've had our fair share of sunshine too you know! Look at this wonderful sky!

Jesus, ridski, clean your lens.

Thanks for those shots, joanne. LOL, marksierra. And that's absolutely stunning, ridski.

I'm embarrassed to tell you that last night it was still too hot for a top sheet, or for "sleepwear" (a satin slip nightie, pj bottoms) at 3am. We had a brief but spectacular thunderstorm that cleared the air but didn't dissipate the heat, so just had a fan going.

Now, at 7am, it's sultry and mid-20s. I think that's high 80s in your scale.

Ridski, your pic almost looks Victorian, almost like it was taken with one of those silver-treated plates oh oh

That's kind of the treatment I was after. My photography's really starting to get out there in terms of the post processing. Most people, for example, don't even realize at first that the moon in the photo isn't ours.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear a bat, or see some dark lace nearby... oh oh

Like the thwack of willow on leather?

I give up. Whose moon is it?

It's Io, one of the moons of Jupiter.

question is, does he want her back?? cheese

(Wasn't there recent discussion about various 'planetary satellites' leaving what we think of as established orbits for some other pattern, thereby proving the existence of unseen members of our solar system or galaxy?)

Excellent. Thanks.

Oops! Sorry, yes, it's Io. I'm working on slipping various otherworldly things into my pictures to make them a little different...
