Adding Names, Not Just Email Addresses to Existing Google Group
Hi Joan,
Only the member of the group can change their display name. A person can be added by their email, but they would need to log into google and change the display name to their own name.

A friend set up a google group for a local club whose membership is expanding. She uses the google group to send out group emails to members and to post information of interest to the group. She is trying to add the names of new members as well as their email addresses to the google group and can't find a way to do this.
If someone reading this has succeeded in doing what she is trying to do, could you please share your method here? Recommendations of alternate applications that would work better are not being sought here.
