I've always purchased the high end calculators on Ebay and never had a problem. Didn't get the cool colors but did get a great deal.
When I paid $106 for the thing (4 years ago?), there was an active thread on MOL about how expensive they were, and $106 was actually a good price.
There are emulators of that calculator. You run them on your computer. Of course, you can't bring this to class unless you bring the computer.
That's a good price, but when I pointed it out to my son he told me it's about the same on Amazon. So if you don't feel like driving the 100 miles to Target, other options are still available.

One of my favorite Keenan Thompson characters . . .
Anyhoo, this week Target is selling the TI-84 Plus graphing calculator for $84.99. If, like me, you've ever had to shell out money for one of these babies, you will know that's an amazing price. I think I paid $104 for my kid's and I can't even remember what year that was, or what year they're required for (Algebra II?)
They also have a cool new design that is thinner, lighter and comes in different colors.
If your kid is gonna need one this year, or has "misplaced" their existing one, you might want to check this out.
