Black and White Male Cat Found in Newstead Area South Orange

Adult male black and white cat found in Newstead area of South Orange. Does he look familiar? He is safe at Puppy Love on Springfield Ave, Maplewood.

Are you sure this isn't someone's cat who is allowed outside? How does one determine whether it's owned by someone as not all cats wear collars...

Aw, he's a cutie. He could be checked for a chip by any local vet. Puppy Love knows the drill on trying to find the owners of stray dogs and cats.

Pretty sure Furry Hearts has their own scanner. Not everyone reads MOL. "Found cat" flyers w/ pic posted in the surrounding area where the cat was picked up may help find its way home, too.

This kitty has been hanging out at a home that is not it's own home for a few months. He was just captured this afternoon.

H'mm. That doesn't bode very well. Still, I hope someone claims him soon, whether it's his original owners or a new loving family. Is he, er, intact? or neutered?

Looks like he's "all male".....

That makes me think it's less and less likely that his original family is looking for him or wants him back. Reserving comment on that.

What resources are there in the area for re-homing an adult cat or getting it out of an unhealthy/unhappy living arrangement? Another poster has started a thread about finding a new home for a friend's cat, because the friend has had to move back in with family, her stepfather is highly allergic, and the cat has been overgrooming out of stress. Trying to help find a way to take the strain off all concerned...
