CAP program at CHS?

An acquaintance has mentioned that her 15 year old is being considered for the CAP program at CHS.  Does anyone know what the program consists of?  The young person is smart but not academically successful at this point.

Probably best to ask someone from the Special Services department or the CHS HSA parent liaison for special education.  CAP - Columbia Academy Program - was originally built as a program for students with high anxiety/prone to school avoidance.  The students are given the option to enter/exit CHS from the side door on Academy Street (vs the main doors on Parker).  I believe the students are set up as a cohort and attend smaller classes together at CHS.

ETA: not all students in the program have IEPs.  Some of the students may also be in the ESS (Effective School Solutions) program for students with emotional challenges.  Tell your friend to ask for a tour of the program on a day when school is in session.

Thank you, erins.  It sounds like it may be a good fit.
