Chinatown (1974)

If there is a bucket list for films “Chinatown” (1974) should be on it.   

I like the concept. Can you change the thread title to A Bucket List for Films?

I love Faye Dunaway but my favorite film of hers was Network.

For Jack Nicholson I'd have a hard time picking a favorite.

Actually, there are lists like this out there, and Chinatown usually is on them. Spike Lee has one, though I think it is overly American in emphasis and misses important directors such as Ozu, Satyajit Ray and Abbas Kiarostami:

 Interesting note after the list.  Spike didn't include a single film directed by a woman so he added to the list after getting criticized.

I've yet to see 28 (by rough count) of Lee's list of 95 essential films.

Better get cracking!

I have enjoyed Chinatown in the past and, as a teen ager, I loved his movie Frantic but I am not sure I would watch a Roman Polanski movie again. My daughter is about the same age as his victim was and I just don't think I could stomach it.

Filmstruck/Criterion has a series called "Adventures in Moviegoing" where they talk to filmmakers, actors writers and others about the movies that influenced them. That would be a good place to find some bucket lists that are more inclusive.
