Daily Parking

As someone who rarely, if ever, commutes to the city these days I was wondering what the rules were for daily parking in Maplewood.  I need to drop my son off at school around 7:50 and catch a train into the city.  I did a test run this morning and I saw that the lot on Maplewood Ave and Lennox was full at that time.  Is there any hope of finding a spot at that time of the morning in any daily pay area?

TIA

Maybe try the deck in the South Orange apartments located at W. 3rd St, near Valley?

If they have spots, it seems it's $7 for the day. Can try calling the number on their website to ask about availability:

No hope, sports.  All daily parking in Maplewood is filled up by then.

Thank you.  That's what I was afraid of.  One thought I guess is to go a little early and grab a bagel in town before walking my son over to MMS.  What time do that spots typically fill up?

In my experience, if it isn't a school vacation week the NJT lot across from Able Baker is full shortly after 7. (Today, however, there were pay spots available when I walked through there at 9.)

Jitney?  If there is no pickup spot near your house, can you find out where they are and drive to one and park on the street?

Good idea. Drop the tyke off. Then go to a jitney spot and park there.

Without a permit and grabbing a day spot the closest you can come is parking on Oak view above Prospect.

Thank you all.  I think I’ll just walk from the house to MMS to the train station and back.

JR is correct - lots usually full at 7ish.
