Defrocked Priest from New Jersey is Murdered at Home in Las Vegas

This priest worked for the church in Summit and Westfield among other places. He also taught in Newark after getting thrown out of the church.

Psalm 7:16

The trouble they cause recoils on them; their violence comes down on their own heads.

I just read that when he was terminated from the Newark public school system around 2012 he was permitted to keep the pension associated with his $96k teachers salary.

Good old NJEA - putting students first.

 Two thoughts:

1.  Blame the union? That's ridiculous.  I don't know the details of his case, but in the end whatever he got was because of the contract approved by the school district.

2.  Newark isn't an NJEA district, not that it matters for purposes of your "point".

Somehow, when a conservative rapes someone, its always the fault of the liberals.  Funny that....

Call me naive but maybe there should be a clause in the contract that pedophiles don't get to keep their pensions.  Maybe.

The article says the State Board of Examiners settled with him. I think they wanted to be rid of him, but maybe they were concerned the case against him wasn't strong enough. Worst case scenario in a hearing like that is maybe the Board is forced to reinstate him.

I'm just speculating but it's possible in exchange for keeping his pension he got out of town. But the charges against him seem to have never been formally proven.

The problem is that the powers that be settled with him.  Also, he wasn't charged with abusing students when he was a teacher.  This is an article from when it all happened.

"A public school teacher in Newark has agreed to the revocation of his teaching certificates over allegations that he repeatedly groped teenage boys in the 1970s and 1980s, when he was engaged in active ministry as a Roman Catholic priest. The Rev. John Capparelli reached a settlement with the State Board of Examiners, the body that regulates teachers, ahead of a scheduled hearing before an administrative law judge earlier this month."

So yes, if a teacher if fired for abusing students, he's not going to get his pension, but that's not the situation here.

Now look what you did. You went and ruined a perfectly good, anti-teacher, anti-N.J.E.A. post.
