disposing of medium size furniture?

We have 3 pieces of medium size furniture( a computer desk, a table and a cart) that did not go in our garage sale. We left with a free sign on our curb but no pickers either.

How do I get rid of it? The vets said no because it was too heavy for one guy--although not really as my husband carried it to the curb himself.

Can we take it to the dump?

If you are in SO, next saturday is container day - you can bring to DPW and toss.

If you're in MPD, the next bulk drop-off day is June 6 (on the Twp. website).  If you're a Waste Management customer, they will pick up 4 items on the last Wednesday of the month if you call to schedule it.  Waste Industries also has a pick-up for their customers.

Shoot. We need to get rid of it by this weekend (and are in Maplewood).

Does anyone know a picker who will take them if I pay?

Can you drop off on Sunday at Furniture Assist? I think they are in Kenilworth. Also there is a Salvation Army that you can drop at--I think the closest one is in Paterson...maybe Newark? Those things sound as if they would fit in an SUV.

What is furniture assist?

there is a also the goodwill dropoff center on Morris Ave but I don't know what if any furniture they would take, open every day

you can post it on FREECYCLE for some one to take..

the salvation army in morristown used to leave a garage open for donations...but I would call and ask if they could take it 1st

1-800 got junk will take it..but they are VERY expensive

You can donate to Sage Elder Care in Summit ..they operate a used shop to help pay for their extensive  Senior social  services...the shop has furniture, clothing small appliances etc.. I do not know if they pick up.

Worth a phone call or a check of their site .
