Ed Krause, May He Rest In Peace

Ed Krause was principal of Marshal School ( and So Mtn)for many years back in the 80s/90s Both my kids had the utter privilege to be with him from kindergarten through 2nd grade I was honored to be the PTA president at Marshall during some of that time as well

I will write more later but if anyone has any more information on his passing , please post it here . I am heartbroken

Just told my little one (who's in her 30s now!) and her first reaction was of a strong loss. "What an educator"she said, "and what a wonderful man". Twenty-five years later and still a great loss

When one is married to a teacher who was posted at various schools over the years some names become second

nature to our ears. I know my wife always spoke fondly of him. Now I have the difficult job of telling her of his

passing. Some lives mattered..........his did

Just spoke to her............One of her memories was of him at every Assembly for Marshall. At the time it was K, 1st and 2nd grades. He would lead the kids in the singing of "Take me out to the Ball Game. Some you remember fondly

A dear man, wonderful with the kids. : ( RIP

Has anyone seen an obituary? @librarylady?

Hi, this is Mike Krause, Ed's son. Although this is an incredibly difficult time, it's been truly heartening to see posts like this. Although I didn't grow up here, we've been Maplewood residents since 1999, and I've loved continuing the Krause legacy in the district with our kids, Ally (16) and Mac (13). We'll be sitting shiva at our house at 18 St. Lawrence Avenue tomorrow from 3-6pm, and my mom and the rest of the family will be there. All who knew my Dad in any capacity and want to help celebrate his life are welcome.

Hi Mike, I and my family will certainly see you tomorrow. I remember when your children were at Marshall school , continuing the Krause legacy. Can't believe that they are teenagers already. As sad as it is looking forward to tomorrow . See you then

Mr. Krause was such a warm presence at Marshall when my kids were there. We all loved the joke assemblies!

and the Thanksgiving dinners!! RIP Mr. Krause, you were a gem!
