Experiences with Movie Pass and their "deals" during the last 2 months or so...

Missed this when it was "too good to believe"

Is this a more stable idea?

Anybody buy in?

How's the participation of theaters in the area?

As a senior, AMC's $5dollar Tuesdays seem a better deal... Thoughts?

Best Regards,

Ron Carter

moviepass was amazing (truly unbelievable) for about 6 months and then became a disaster a few months ago. In its new form, only certain movies were available each day and then on the weekends, it was common for no movies at all to be available. Theaters dwindled each week. When movies were there to choose from, it was often just one movie a day and usually something no one wanted to see. You could never count on what you wanted to see to be on there on any given night and some nights, you could plan to go to the movies but nothing would come up. And if I said their customer service was abominable, that would be the understatement of the century. We gave it two months after the switch a few months ago and then cancelled.

AMC always has $6 movies first movie of the day and my local theaters in Westfield/Cranford have $5 Tues plus matinee/twighlight oricing every day even on the weekends.

AMC does have an unlimited program right now with no limitations any theater, any movie for $20 a month

What? Yiz didn't wanna see Ralphie and the internet tubes?

yup, many days, it was just a kids movie available. Then the weekend would roll around and no movies at all would be available. It was so frustrating

AMC has their own version now for $20/month, and I’d bet that will, contribute to killing Moviepass off.  Seems like AMC has no blackouts or nonsense with the app like Moviepass
