Eyeglass repair

I have a pair of fave eyeglasses-reading only- which have a broken leg(?).  These are about my best fitting etc, glasses.  Does anyone know of a place where I can get these repaired?   The original vendor only wants to sell me a new pair.

I don’t know of anyone who does repairs locally. But my sister mailed hers in to someone online that did it for her.
Could you get a new one from one of the pharmacies close by? It’s a reader, it might be less costly to get a new one.
All these little businesses are sadly a distant memory.

How are they broken?  Is it something you can repair yourself with an eyeglass repair kit?

The "broken leg" is called a 'temple' and the part that has a screw is the hinge. It's tough to find someone local to fix it, many brands don't seem to make replacement parts (at least that's what opticians say), and styles are always changing--even the temples!

If the temple snapped, you might be able to temporarily glue it together as you wait for your order of a new pair of prescription ones or shop for store-bought readers. I'm rather hard on my glasses since I'm constantly switching between my progressives and prescription reading glasses. Right now my favorite frames for readers is a metal one that has lasted for at least 3 different prescriptions.
