FREE hosta (you dig them up)

Google tells me that you can transplant hosta in the fall. I'm done with having hosta.  I liked not having to mow, but instead I have to constantly weed, which is MORE work.  I'm giving my hosta away, just show up and dig away.  Free to anyone who wants some.  The leaves were just mowed off (they always come back so I don't think this will affect their health for transplanting) so this means I can't tell you for sure which types are where in my yard (I have multiple varieties).

PM for address.

Spring is best according to this link:  http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/hosta/transplanting-hostas.htm

So far this has been a mild fall, so I think you could do it now if that is what you are considering.

The only ones I've transplanted that failed were some that had never taken in their original spots between some oak roots (obviously I had ignored some of the recommendations in the above confused ) and I've never replanted this late.

eta--as I typed this Spontaneous revised her post. FWIW, I've never had an issue with weeds among my hostas....but I do have weeds grow among my english ivy.

I actually have one that was dug up in fall by someone else, forgotten over winter in a cardboard box, and then given to me in the spring.  Once planted it flourished.  They do seem pretty hardy.

I just pm'd  you I will take some...
