From The Pig In The White House

@realDonaldTrump: "Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (&women in 18years (sic)), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice.!"

Rebuilding our military? Yeah that’s what we need to be great again - bigger bully pants. What an evil asswipe he is.

The man knows what his base wants.

His base truly defines “ugly American”, it’s scary that’s there are so many of them.

Compare and contrast. Also tweeted today:

"We can never truly repay the debt we owe our fallen heroes. But we can remember them, honor their sacrifice, and affirm in our own lives those enduring ideals of justice, equality, and opportunity for which generations of Americans have given that last full measure of devotion."

Obama uses too many big words and intellectual concepts for trump’s base.

With Despicable Don it's always about him.

No, that's not the problem. Obama's skin color is too dark for Trump and his base. That's the real problem.

Evokes the Gettysburg Address, arguably the greatest memorial speech in US history, places military sacrifice in the context of physical representation of our founding principles.  It’s a great moment to revisit on this day.

one of the best lines I read this morning was describing his hair dye which ranges between safety vest yellow and urine.

Trump puts the "Me" in Memorial Day.  (credit to CNN)

It makes me crazy to read "Happy" Memorial Day.

Strangely, I missed that. Instead focused on his obvious pat on his own back of how wonderfully great things are now.

Your comment got me to see. "Happy Memorial Day" is really weird, sick even. Lets go to a VFW hall or veteran's cemetery and start screaming "Happy Memorial Day." See what'll happen.

What's next? He was not invited to First Lady Bush's funeral. He won't be invited to Senator McCain's funeral. If he ever manages to get a funeral invite, will we be treated to "@realDonaldTrump: Happy Funeral Day!?

One of my conservative FB friends wrote that saying "happy Memorial Day" is like saying "happy 9/11."

That statement sums up his level of narcissism.  It's beyond textbook.  It's a level of personality disorder that I never came close to seeing in my years as a clinical psychologist.  But then again, someone that narcissistic would never think they needed any help.  The next best video demonstrating his disorder was when he shoved that world leader out of the way so that he could be in front, and then smiled broadly. Completely shameless.  Completely clueless.  And totally dangerous.

 The Prime Minister of Montenegro.

Wouldn't it be great if we all decided to book our next vacation there. It's supposed to have some of the best beaches in Europe.

Nero Wolfe came from there... isn’t it time to revive that fictional character?

(What is wrong with my typing? I keep leaving out v small words like ‘it’ and ‘or’ even though I’m saying them as I’m typing)

I will bring wrath down on me for saying this, but here goes: reading this thread’s title as I check in here and scroll down the discussions, I feel ashamed to see the President denigrated — I would feel the same, no matter who was sitting in the WH. That word is a major slur and implies a threat. Think about its use as a reference to police officers.

whew, good to get that feeling out there.

The president denigrates himself. "Pig" is just a description.

 so you liked that tweet?

I thought it was shameful. "Pig" seems appropriate.

There is one man who eclipses all others; even combined, in denigrating the office of the President.   Think about that and consider the shame you are feeling.

Saying Trump is a pig, or any other animal, denigrates the animal.

Unfortunately, the English language does not have a single word which encapsulates Trump, so we have to make do.

What do you think about trump’s tweet?

She likely won't answer your question.  more of a "drive-by" troller.

Tell me Mtierney, how do you who claim to be Christian support Trump?  Please point me to the part of the Bible that justifies doing business with the Devil in support of your Christianist goals.

p.s.  My reading of pig was that it was a reference to the animal.

Psalm 109 was written for Trump.

7 When he is judged, let him go forth condemned; and let his prayer be turned into sin.
Let his days be few; let another take his charge.
Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

10 Let his children be vagabonds, and beg; and let them seek their bread out of their desolate places.

11 Let the creditor distrain all that he hath; and let strangers make spoil of his labour.

12 Let there be none to extend kindness unto him; neither let there be any to be gracious unto his fatherless children.

13 Let his posterity be cut off; in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be brought to remembrance unto the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

It is right and just to call him a pig and worse. It is right and just to wish harm on him. I don't normally wish harm on anyone. Harm on him would be for the best. He deserves our disrespect and earns it many times a day. It's good to respect the presidency, and that requires disrespect of Trump, in order that respect is returned to the presidency.

But he is not a real president, he is a dangerous embarrassment who was propped there by the Russians. He denigrates our presidency by behaving as if he is still in his insane reality show, with no respect for our country and our laws. Plus I will never acknowledge a racist as president - how can you?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianism

"Writing in 2005, the New York Times language columnist William Safire attributed the term (in this novel usage) to blogger Andrew Sullivan, who wrote on June 1, 2003,  "I have a new term for those on the fringes of the religious right who have used the Gospels to perpetuate their own aspirations for power, control and oppression: Christianists. They are as anathema to true Christians as the Islamists are to true Islam." Sullivan later expanded on his usage of the term in a Time magazine column.  The bloggers Tristero and David Neiwert used the term shortly after."

That's a good term, similar to Stephen Colbert's truthiness.
