Furry Hearts Rescue Pups need foster/adopter

Denise is a 3 year-old pitt mix who is loving and sweet and full of puppy energy. She has been in rescue for nearly a year and is starting to show signs of stress. Because of her stress, she has started chewing her legs and toes. She has become reactive to other pets. I'm pleading for a foster home for her. She needs to get out of her crate. She needs to run and play and be in a home environment. She is sweet and gentle and loving. She needs some manner training because she gets excited and jumps, but does respond to commands and correction and loves to get treats.

I'd love for her to find a forever home, but in the short term, if you are able to foster her, you would be her hero. Contact Lisa at Furry Hearts Rescue. You can meet Denise at Puppy Love on Springfield Ave. in Maplewood, NJ. 973-761-0330

Denise, who I call Dee, is a super dog. She will roll over and offer her belly to strangers asking for belly rubs.

Who loves to give kisses? Denise does!!!

oh, she is soooo sweet looking!
I hope she gets a home soon!

Too cute !! I hope she finds a home

Have you always wanted a dog, but your landlord won't let you have one in the apartment, or your significant other is allergic?

You can still play with, walk, and love a dog.

While Denise waits for a forever home or a foster she would love to have someone volunteer to play with her, and walk her and spend some cuddle time with her. She is right in Maplewood, at Puppy Love on Springfield Ave.

Contact Lisa and let her know you'd like to volunteer to be DEE'S playmate.

Is Denise good with kids?

Hi Gabby-- I would think she would be, but the best person to talk to about Denise is Lisa at Puppy Love.

FUrry Hearts Rescue has a few other dogs up for adoption as well. I'll try to get pictures this Saturday.

You all might have seen Denise (Dee) and I out and about this afternoon.

She's a lovely walking companion.

Denise, or Dee for short, is so terrific. Today when I walked in I was greeted with such glee and love. Who wouldn't want to come home to that everyday?

Denise still waits for a foster or adopter.

Denise is 3 years old, aprox 35lbs. She is friendly with people, but can be a little over excited, so placement with young children is not ideal. She might easily knock them over, but not on purpose. She would be best placed without other pets in the home. She is potty trained, and not destructive. She dreams of having a couch of her very own to lounge upon, and a human to show her affection to.

Someone with experience with dogs and the patience to train Denise would be an ideal placement for her.
In exchange, Denise promises hugs, kisses and loving loyalty.

Here she is being silly!

Jeanneh, does she not get along with other dogs? little dee has to be an ''only''? is it nerves or aggression?
I will call Lisa this week but meanwhile, I'm wondering why. Her eyes speak volumes, don't they?! begging for love. If she is reactive from being crated so many hours, that can be more territorial behavior, only manifesting itself because of her present living situation.

also, what training does she need? learning to greet by sitting nicely, obviously… but she walks nicely, I take it. would you say juming up at people is number one priority in training? a good walk will help discharge much of her anxiety, too, I would think.
I'd be happy to play training games with her… sit for a cookie, etc. sit before I pet you. fun stuff, no pressure, no raised voice… all positives. oh oh her eyes just kill me. I would foster her but my dogs I have now are not quite ready for fosters coming and going.

She should be an only pet--yes.

What Dee needs is a foster home to get her out of her current living situation. She needs to be in a home, and have a place to run.

I have to come visit her that face!

+1 Gabby!

Thanks, jeanneh. I can bring her to my house, fenced-in yard, no escape holes, just to play with tennis balls, run around, get some energy out. I'll be speaking with Lisa later today. I wish I could foster her… what a lovey she is!

I met Denise today and I am in love with her.

Who wouldn't be?

DO you think you would foster her her...or dare I say?...foster to adopt?

I am considering it! Lisa and Matt were wonderful and introduced me to her.

....Gabby--are you still considering Dee?

Wish I could help, but I can bump the thread...

I am still considering Dee. I spoke to Lisa today and we are working it out yeah!

That would be terrific!

I was getting some cuddles from Denise today!!!

Ethel, a 9-year-old boxer/pitt mix, is just a rambunctious puppy at heart. Aprox. 30lbs,and healthy, she was abandoned at the Short Hills Mall a month ago and now sits in a kennel at our vets waiting for a home. Playful, vocal and a lover of dog cookies, Ethel is particular about who she likes, both human and non human, but if she likes you, she loves you! Ethel will need a dog-experienced home where patience and training should bring out the best in this lover of life.
Available thru Furry Hearts Rescue.
