Or for something (not so completely) different, try the New Jersey Gay Men's Chorus.  They are having performances on 12/19 and 12/20 in Asbury Park and Princeton.  Since they are based in the Trenton/Princeton area, they perform in Central Jersey, although their definition of central goes up at least as far as the Somerville area.  I ran into them at the every-four-years international "GALA Festival," where LGBT choruses and small ensembles from around the world perform for each other.  I also seem to remember that years ago my chorus, the Gateway Men's Chorus of St. Louis, performed in St. Louis with their chorus, or at least their director, leading a performance of a moving piece he wrote, "Prayers for Bobby."

A few years ago, the NJGMC "came out" as being from New Jersey.  They were originally called the "Delaware Valley GMC," and got tired of people (especially at GALA) asking, "How are things in Wilmington?"  So they decided they were proud of being from New Jersey, no matter what stereotypes people had, and changed their name.

You can look on the GALA  ("Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses") website for a listing of their member choruses and small ensembles.  There are several more in the New York area, including Long Island.  In general, members of GALA include Women's, Men's, and mixed choruses and ensembles.  Some are not specifically gay or lesbian, especially some of the women's choruses, although those would be super lesbian-friendly, like "Charis -- the St. Louis Women's Chorus."  My own chorus (I don't sing, I used to accompany on the piano and now I just volunteer) accepts any singers who can sing in the usual male register of TTBB.  We have had a few straight male singers over the years, as well as recently a trans-man.  Our currrent accompanist is straight.  We have also had a female director.  Charis just hired a male director.  The common denominator is that everyone connected with each chorus must support the mission of LGBT pride.

There is also an LGBT concert band movement, including St. Louis' own "Band Together," a mixed group.
