Glaucoma M.D. and or Cataract Surgeon Recommendations

Does anyone have a recommendation for an Ophthalmologist who specializes in Glaucoma  in the area or Manhattan ?

And if you have Glaucoma and had cataract surgery,

1. Are you pleased?

2. Who performed it and how long ago ?

I have reached the point where I'm carrying 3 pair of glasses and a magnifying glass oh oh

Thanks.

Sorry that you're dealing with glaucoma.  A friend of mine swears by Dr. Lama at the Glaucoma Institute of Northern NJ:  https://glaucomainstitute.com/paul-j-lama-m-d/  I can't tell you much more than that she trusts him and that he's apparently an expert in his field.

I just had my 2nd cataract surgery a week ago. Had my 1st in mid-October. I'm thrilled with the results. I can now see distances at 20/20. I'd highly recommend my optometrist (Dr. Oscar Leis) and surgeon (Dr. Richard Koplin) both in Manhattan. Going tomorrow for an eye exam for a new glasses Rx which will only be for reading.

Dr. Oscar Leis, Metropolitan Vision, 22 W 13th St. 212-807-0019

Dr. Richard Koplin (Dr. Leis will refer you.)

ETA: Dr. Leis is a great diagnostician. He found a "freckle" on my retina which is an early symptom of retinal melanoma - a very dangerous and often under-diagnosed condition. I subsequently had a series of exams with retinal specialists and a retinal oncologist, believe it or not and I do not have retinal melanoma, but I will go back in a year for a follow up.

Use Dr. Matthew Marano, office is at StBarnabas Ambulatory across from Livingston Mall.  Did my cataracts by laser which he recommended due to my glaucoma.  20/20 vision after.  Also have a freckle on the back of a retina discovered years ago.  Go every 4 months for glaucoma - check eye pressure, and yearly for the freckle.
