Good source for a used car
My family has had a long line of used cars over decades from Andy's Auto in Union.
depending on what you are looking for, speak to BJ at Bernie's, 73 Millburn Ave, Millburn. Bought a used Mazda Protege for our son from him about 6 years ago that our daughter still uses. He's a great guy, and our trusted mechanic as well.
Marano and sons has a good rep...at least they used to...haven't checked lately...they mostly have newer used cars.....they are in Westfield/Garwood

Is there a Carmax near there? Relatives have had good results from them.
Not sure of your budget or what type you are looking for but my son is going to be putting his Scion TC ( $12K-- 50K miles ) on the market in the next few days - its white with a nice detail pinstripe, smoked glass and well kept

+1 for Bernie at Bernie's in Millburn. He sold us a used VW for my daughter several years ago that is the best car we've ever owned. Plus, the car belonged to another client of his, so he knew it inside out. He has kept it serviced and, when an unexpected problem occured, he fixed it at no charge. Very trustworthy and sells a small pool of excellent used vehicles.

(Also, we will most probably be selling our 2004 Honda Pilot in July. Low mileage, well cared for. We're the original owners; only selling because we will likely have 3 cars (all Hondas) but only 2 drivers remaining.)
To add to the mix ... call Charlie Betzel at Maplecrest near the 78 on ramp beyond the Whole Foods. He is my brother-in-law and will let you know if he has something that matches what you are looking for or not without a big song and dance.
Just be sure to have 1) a budget - what range do you want to spend 2) an idea of what you are looking for 2 door/4 door/ decent gas mileage/ under 25,000/50,000/100,000 miles/ certain make or model.
Tell him Marko told you to call to ask if he has anything that resembles #2 in the #1 range and he will let you know. They are a new car dealer but they get all kinds of trade-ins all the time.

I'm buying a car for my daughter...I have checked out Cars.com, eBay and others and come up empty. I am thinking I might have better luck going to a large-ish, reputable used car dealer. Does anyone have any good experiences with local sellers? Suggestions?
