Goodbye from jonesey, the jonesey family, and Deadgood Events

Glad your stuff arrived. (Sorry, I don't check MOL that often so I'm just seeing this now.)
How did the audition go?!?!

They didn't think the potato salad went with the quiche...tho' they loved the quiche and the chutney that went with it.

Hah! What do they know?? We serve hand-cut chips (fries) with our Lorraine, and my French mother would be shuddering. But that's what the clients want and it tastes good.

So: does that mean you get to cook for them again? Hm?

nope.
but the quiche has been featured regularly chez Jonesey since. The cheese is treated in Portugese-inspired way, melted in a bain marie with a few anchovy fillets. They dissolve completely, but give a nice salty tang. Onion, garlic, dill, cream and salmon are all in there too, with a little more fresh cheese grated over the top before baking.

Sounds truly delish, I'll have to trial it here.

I'm sorry you missed out. Was the experience fun enough to try again another time?

queuing outdoors for six hours in California weather despite making a timed appointment? Unlikely.

Well, I guess then it's something off the Bucket List, and to tell grandchildren about ;-)

How's the rest of settling in? All your stuff arrived yet?

All that's going to get here. Once again I say I would recommend NOT using the Global Relocation company. Not everything they relocate ends up at the right location. And of that which does, not all of it is in one piece.

btw I went in for the original Masterchef in the UK back in the 90's, which was much more civilized.

Well, re the Masterchefs, I reckon you should find a way to revitalise ours! ;-)

Are there more adventures to be found in your new neighbourhood?

The mother-in-law is staying with us at the moment, and I took her to the "Battle of the Big Bands", Tommy Dorsey vs Glenn Miller. First time in some while I've been the youngest person in the vicinity... it was very good, and drew a standing ovation, which was a major acievement on the part of much of the audience.

That sounds like fun! oh oh

And yesterday I had my first actual work since getting here - being zombified again. My right foot is now a big star as "disgusting-toe zombie". The foot makeup took about 40 minutes.

lol
hi to liz!

Zombie extra!!! oh oh Which movie or TV program do we keep our eyes peeled for?

So far it'll only be online. It's called "Move or Die!", and it's a part of the odd sub-genre Zombie Parkour.

I was gonna put some pics up, but "attach a file"' doesn't work. Clues, anyone?

I'm obviously now a famous zombie... I was requested to do another one on Saturday, but unfortunately it's back over New Jersey way.

;-) if they pay your fares it's worth it!

I tried the steps I'd use to attach a file in your thread, and it works for me (I just didn't complete the post). Perhaps there are other problems at your end?

FYI, Jonesey, I'm watching Top of the Pops 1979 right now and they're playing the Luton Airport song, and I immediately thought of you.

OK, attaching a pic only seems to work in IE, not Firefox.
Anyhoo, here's me, recently deceased ... brace yourself for "disgusting toe zombie"...

Ewwwww! And other appropriate shrieks of horror and disgust. oh oh

Clever juxtaposition of tree and hair.

Passing through NJ on our way to UK. We'll be in the Gate on Saturday night.

So my first play , "Arrr!" which sold out in Maplewood in 2013, has now been published. If you want to stage this one yourself, or if you know anybody who might, or just help a starving writer out, you can get the script here...

OOOh! I know some theatre companies in Australia that might be interested! :-D question
OK - I've passed along the link. Site doesn't have a working link to the sliding-scale for costs though. Might be an issue out here. Did you want to PM me?

I don't know the fees. I know they are competitive. The rates depend on theatre size, etc. For most local and am-dram productions, the cost would be less than, say, a script from French's.If you can persuade some people to at least request a sample from the site, I think that'd be beneficial to me. And it would be awesome to get this performed out there.
Arrr!

Well, the emails all went out over 12 hours ago, so it's just waiting for feedback now oh oh

Ha. Well, you may have thought you got rid of us, but no!

Not yet anyway. We'll be back for about a year shortly, though we're keeping the Cali place too. There will be much back-and-forth-ing, and Mrs Jonesey and I will probably not see too much of each other this fall. Lucky Mrs Jonesey you may say. But she'll have to cook for herself when we're not together. Not SO lucky then.

So, anyone know an apartment we can rent? the daughter will be there all the time (the boy is gone to other parts of NJ with girlfriend) and Liz and/or I will be there depending on work etc so we're just looking for a one-bedroom place. It needs to be in the CHS catchment area.

Meanwhile, here's a picture from the set of the very short movie "As Seen On TV" which will premiere at the Scary Cow festival  in July.
