That recliner will come in handy too for elevating leg! Glad you will have a cozy, stair-free place to be. Bathroom on that floor?

We ordered a bunch of sponge bath pre moistened cloths and barely used...want a pack or two?

Also, what about putting a basket on your walker to carry stuff around?

I'd love some of the wipes    I will send over a person  let me know what time works

Half bath down here but no shower

Have a small backpack AND a basket  mostly using a wheelchair  let's see what happens AFTER surgery

Nancy,  I  LOVE scrabble and have no one to play with.   I'd love to come over for a game or two - and I'll bring goodies to eat too !

Hey Sarah! Send me a PM and  I can you too to my Word Chums game! (Nancy hasn't responded yet, other things on her mind, so I can't start a game with her)

Joanne  I am a big scrabble freak and gonna stick with that right  now  playing with a dear British friend and it does get a little challenging with the different dictionaries  can you play in platforms other than Facebook ? I'll check when it's daylight  b It's almost 5 am and the pain is bad  off to  a pill and trying to get back to sleep

you don't have to play in FB - I don't! - I subscribed via email and the free app. Been playing for over a year. It uses the US official Scrabble dictionary as the official dictionary even though players are international; the company's based in Texas.

No rude words allowed. No proper nouns. You can suggest new words. You earn XP  (experience points) and coins so you can rise through levels and purchase stuff for your Chum to wear or hold, or to give to others. There are official ways to boost your score via hints (sometimes needed and NOT cheating because you still have to work out the word), and tile swapping (called 'bombing'). You can have multiple games on the go at once (I have about 15 just now). I'm playing with another MOLer who's quite good! oh oh and D, and a local friend, plus someone from the US I met by accident.

So:  how're you feeling??? You sound better on the other thread.

I play with the app on my phone, but some of my opponents (you?) are playing their side on Facebook, I think.

I'm not on FB, so it can't be me!  smile I'm jojiieme, if anyone MOL is looking for a game: invite me, and in Chat tell me it's a MOL connection.

librarylady, I was just reading about the cruise ship that left NJ this Saturday and was caught and really tossed about by the storm at sea. They've cancelled the rest of the cruise and are heading back to port in NJ. If you had been booked to sail on the Anthem of the Seas, you wouldn't have had your lovely vacation anyway! I'm sorry about your injury, but glad you didn't have to deal with this scary situation.

Oh, wow... Where was that ship going, Cody??

ETA: ah, it was headed for Florida and the Bahamas, but still... I was in a bad summer storm once on that itinerary on Radisson Seven Seas, and it was very unsettling. But nowhere near as bad as what Anthem went through.

No I wasn't scheduled to be on the Anthem. Too darn big!

My ship was leaving from Ft Lauderdale and the same time a cousin was also leaving (on a different ship) They got out okay just a lot of wind and waves but once they hit the Caribbean it was fine.

Feeling a little sorry for myself right now but once the cleaning service gets here this afternoon I will perk up. I LOVE the smell of a clean house, especially when I haven't been the one to clean it. Told Mr DrLL I needed it done so that the area is clean and sterile for my recovery and wound healing. It worked, he didn't object.

Now we wait and hope that the snow doesn't postpone/cancel the surgery. Have to be able to get down 5 steps to the car and then back up afterwards. That is the only thing that I am worried about. Oh and LilMiss driving in the snow to the surgery center. Oh and the surgeon screwing up and me not healing and my blood sugar hitting the roof. Yup, I am just worried about everything.

This is my blog and I am allowed to bitch here, right?

Pay me no mind

LL, I am kind of like you with the worrying syndrome, and I always take the wall with the "what ifs?"  what if this happens what if that happens. Anyway, good luck tomorrow and it is oaky to bitch!

If the weather is truly bad and LLL doesn't feel comfortable driving, let us know. We've got a jeep and would be happy to provide door to door service.

Do you have someone lined up to make sure those stairs are clear and dry? I remember when I sprained my ankle, the outdoor stairs were terrifying even without snow or ice. Make sure you have plenty of help for that transit to keep you upright and unbroken.

AND GOOD LUCK WITH THE SURGERY!!!

maybe it would be worth it to get a sheet of sturdy plywood to serve as a temporary wheelchair ramp?

Looking like the weather will cooperate!

I'm confused, thought surgery was Monday??

And you're Tuesday afternoon now (not early morning)? I'm only just waking, need to brew coffee...

Yes, Tuesday afternoon now. I never have a clue what day or time it is where you are, Joanne. I once called a source in Australia for an interview at 2:00 a.m. By a small miracle, they were still willing to talk to me!

Here is the info on the surgery:

Update!! Update!! Update!!
FINALLY, got a appointment for the
surgery . It will be on Wednesday 7:30 am at the Surgery Center behind
Trader Joes. Got to get cardio and blood work done before. Then 4-6 week
recovery. Totally off my feets.

Hi all its been a  good day bad day

The cleaning service I contracted with to make sure the place was as sterile as possible, and who I confirmed with this Morning cancelled 1/2 hour after they were supposed to be here

Now have someone coming Friday  hope I dont die from an infection in the meanwhile ( just kidding but I was pissed )

Good news surgery moved up to 6:30 am from 7:30  good cause I'm not Gonna sleep anyway so the sooner the better   Hubby will drive us in on his way to school and a good friend will pick LilMiss and me up  No snow please and thank you very much

I'll give LilMiss my password so she can log in after and tell you the good news

See you on the other side

VERY good news is that I'm 15 hours ahead ( or so, it's now 7.15 am) so I can receive any news as it happens!

And I'm awake for constants calming vibes and soothing thought transmissions beforehand.  smile

Oh sorry, got distracted!

Ahem.

You're a riot, Joanne!

Best of luck tomorrow, LL.  You will do fine!  >smile< I had pins placed in my hand at that surgery center, so my only problem with it was that it was NOT an approved site by our insurance.  [Tens of thousands of dollars kept getting billed. There was no way we would ever pay!]

Earlier the better.  Less traffic, less snow accumulation. According to the weather forecast I just checked we shouldn't be getting more than a few inches and that is between now and noon tomorrow.

Here's wishing you a good surgery and a speedy recovery.  Be careful going down those stairs, snowy/icy or not.  (Perhaps ask a family member to put down some salt tonight just in case.)  If you don't have a sturdy railing on those stairs, make sure you have someone with a steady hand to help you down them.

I know you're joking but the germs at your house are your germs - you'll be ok!grin

best of luck tomorrow. I'll be thinking about you with all my fingers and toes crossed!

Sending happy, calm thoughts...  >smile

and I just couldn't resist this...
