Has anyone ever had a good customer service experience with Samsung?

My Samsung 2008 plasma tv was the subject of a class action lawsuit and settlement by Samsung in which Samsung admitted that 7.5 million tvs had defective capacitors. Samsung agreed to repair those tvs at no cost to customers. My tv broke in mid-July -- it will not turn on -- no power, no nothing. I spoke to Samsung customer service, which rudely informed me that the settlement expired in March of 2015 and that nothing more could be done. I then wrote a letter to the President, which was mailed and emailed. The email was answered first with a dismissive voicemail. The response to the letter also stated that nothing could be done, and the President's assistant followed up two days later with an email to make sure I received the first email brushoff. I then emailed back informing her that Samsung's policy was shortsighted and that I would never purchase Samsung products again. No response.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I called several years ago regarding a defective Blu-ray player and had a similar experience, and the internet is filled with comparable complaints.

It may not help, but you could post your experience on their FB site and/or website.

Samsung's customer service is totally useless. I recently had a problem where my smart tv would not connect via wifi. Samsung insisted it was my router, but since I was able to use wifi with everything else, I knew they were giving me the brushoff. Luckily, I had opted for the extended warranty at Best Buy and when I explained it to the guy at the Geek Squad, he knew it was a problem with the tv. They repaired it for free and when I bought another tv, I did get a Samsung but with another extended warranty.

I wouldn't believe anyone at Samsung and would contact the people who handled the class-action lawsuit to see if the March cut-off date is valid.
