No, I am paranoid after reading thatwhole section and I learned of the dangers lurking in cyber land!
Given the times we live in, I would call a certain amount of fear over this perfectly healthy. Although we as consumers can only do so much to protect ourselves.
I was guilty of several of the "don't do" practices.
Such as: using the same password for several sites...using auto fill for my personal convenience (sound familiar? ) ...giving out my email address to everyone who asked - this includes most doctors or dentists who request it now....department stores for coupons and sales...not upgrading my computer IOS until I think the version won't have bugs, ...Amazon, etc etc. I am already amazed that the pop-up ads which track my purchases or product searches clutter the screen immediately.
Hackers can learn the code for your household appliances, TV, garage door opener, etc!
Paranoid is a condition which convinces a person that someone is out to get them. Well
I give my email address out freely and haven't suffered from it. I admit you're safer if you don't, but I think it's far from the worst practice.
If you have a strong password, giving out your email address is not a huge problem. Mine is pretty easy to guess, anyway - it's just my first name dot my last name @gmail.com.
There are much more important security measures to take.
Read it to believe it!

Yup. Sometimes things get screwed up.
Though I'm not sure why they kept bringing Experian into that piece. It seemed unrelated to the story.
