how is the drive formatted? Different formats have different file size limits:

Thanks Joy. When I click on get info: it reads the format as MS-DOS FAT32 It seems like I have to reformat to ex-FAT? not sure how to do that? its looks to be a generic 32 gig thumb drive from staples. I'm running a MacBook Pro runnin yosemite 10.10.5

I'm looking to drop a 24gig movie on a 32 gig thumb drive. It keeps telling me there are errors. Does the thumb drive not support the imovie files?
