I paid around $49 so go for it at that price if you need that version. I think that version is needed if you have stock transactions (cap gains, dividends) to report.

I am planning on doing my own tax return for the first time this year. From what I read it looks as if Turbo Tax Premier version would be best for me. What I do not understand is the variation in price for this product. I have seen it advertised for as low as $48.00 and as high as $99.00. I have double checked that all prices were for the Premier version. Am I missing something?
Be advised that they also charge separately to file each return. Usually costs over 100 to actually file

The Federal electronic filing is free. They charge for the each electronic state filing, $20 or $25 per return. Except in NY where by law its free.
State returns can be mailed. Certified or priority mail for those wanting the security of proof of mailing.
I electronic file my Federal. After acceptance (about 2 days) I mail my state return.
