Is it migraine weather?

Folks with migraine: are you having symptoms yesterday/today? Wondering if the changing weather sometimes prompts this.

I had sinus issues, but not a migraine. I will let you know tomorrow.

Not me, but a relative AND a friend, so I was curious.

Its certainly ear infection weather. At least for me it is.

Wow! Just an hour ago my teenager came back from the doctor with the diagnosis of an ear infection!

Yes, I'm feeling extra pressure in my head, migraines, optical light shows, extra vertigo symptoms... everything that can go wrong in my head IS going wrong. UGH.

I don't normally have migraines but had a head injury recently with some associated headaches that have been worse the last few days. I wonder if it is related?

I don't get migraines, but my head has felt like it is going to explode for the past couple of days. I also have a tickle in my throught and cough.

Got me in the eustachian tube this time. Fortunately there's an Otolaryngologists (sp?) on staff at the hospital I work at so I was able to get on it pretty quick. Listening to my heartbeat in my ear is driving me nuts. At least its a break from my normal tinnitus.

For some reason I DONT have a migraine today, but this weather usually does it to me. It's every time a "front" comes through or there's a big storm. Something about the pressure.

I had a wicked migraine yesterday. I couldn't get ahead of it and was in bed by 7. It's the lower barometric pressure.

My migraines are frequently related to weather and/or allergies. It seems to be change in barometric pressure, but even temperature changes, like going in and out of a/c and hot air. Even though there is a pattern it is not always consistent.

Yay I'm not the only one! I've had a pounding migraine since yesterday afternoon and through today popping Advil like candy

Yeah - I've noticed extra head pressure lately - never connected it to weather before - good to know.

Accuweather says the weather is "beneficial" for migraines (sufferers).

ETA: I just looked at that link, and it says the weather is beneficial for migraines for the entire next week, and the weather is varying wildly from day to day. I think something is wrong with their migraine predictor!

Woke up this morning with a serious sore throat, and the soreness extended out through my right ear: felt like it was a heavy duty allergic reaction. (Rain=molds?) I feel much better now, though still some sinusy stuff going on...

I've had a nonstop headache for the past three days that nothing is helping. (Especially not my ever-escalating work load...)

Adding to the chorus of sinus headache/migraine/pressure sufferers! Even broke down and took a DayQuil the other day... it helped, but I don't like taking that much medicine unless I really can't function without it. Trying Neti-Pot next.

I've had a pounding headache for the last few days. The weather is my number 1 migraine trigger. Feel better, everyone!

Remember the recent research: every migraine teaches your brain how to be more efficient at starting/processing migraines. Don't put off taking meds as soon as you realise what is happening, and if pain medication isn't working for you, see a doctor for another approach (there are several,never for short term, once in a while migraines). This is not 'merely' a headache.

What do most of you take for your migraines? I found that ibuprofen works better than any other over the counter NSAID... I usually start with 600mg if I feel it is a strong one coming on, then add 200mg if it is not helping.. I found that if I start slow, such as 400mg and add another 200mg after, it has almost no effect... tylenol is pretty much useless for my migraines..

Be careful with ibuprofen. I used to take big doses like that, and now 30 years later do have stomach problems. Not all the time, but I am susceptible to stomach bugs, and some medications upset my stomach. I find the triptans (like imitrex, etc) to be very effective.

interesting! never knew these types of meds even existed ... I've been suffering with migraines since I was 14 almost always on the left side of my head although sometimes right, but rarely both. When I was in school I would miss days of school because I would sit at home in the corner of the room avoiding any sounds or movements and went through all kinds of doctors and exams. These days I still get them at least once a week, with some periods of the year being worse than others, but I suppose I have gotten used to it as part of my normal life and I have a 'jar' of advil liquid gels at home, at my office, and in the car handy...

Seaweed, you might find you'll get rebound headaches later. Please investigate other options than straight pain relief, and OTC. Check the migraine blog.
