I don’t know enough about the NFL to know - does this make the Jets competitive?
He was considered to be the stud of the free agent class. I don't doubt his talent but the Jets O line is weak and the value of RBs, overall, has declined in the NFL in this era, which is pass-happy. On the other hand, the Jets did not break the bank for him. The market did not support the kind of money he was looking for in free agency. I'm cautiously happy.
I'm presently reading "Drinking Whiskey in the Dark, -My life as a Jets Fan".
Jets will figure out how to screw it up.
If there was a true stud free agent O lineman, I would have preferred that over a RB. I don't think there is one nor is the draft stocked with O line stars according to the people in the know. Still, the Jets, which have grossly neglected the O line for years, have to figure it out and improve it.
It's a good signing. He's a unique talent. RB that's a WR that's a damn good blocker out of the backfield.
The Jets have made some nice moves this off-season.
Looking forward to Homegating™!
