Local Residential Architects For Two-Story Addition

I apologize in advance if this has been discussed (I'm sure several times) but I'm having trouble with the search function on MOL and can't seem to streamline the info. I'm looking for recommendations for local residential architects for a decently sized home addition project. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Bill Figdor has done some beautiful additions in my neighborhood.

Clawson is the name I hear and the work I see the most, and in addition to the others mentioned above, there's Camilla Zelevansky and also John James.

Dave at http://windigodesign.com/index.php in Morristown. Windigo Design is a design / build firm, so they will hold your hand through the entire process. Dave lives locally and has done several additions in the area.

Tom Conway at Rosen Group in Summit. He lives in Maplewood and has been doing work in MAPSO for years. Jeff Barnes also works for Tom (another Maplewood Architect). They are more of a high end firm that does a lot of restorations, additions etc.

second for Steve Majewski

All of these designers are so talented ...it is amazing what an art design becomes
Such wonderful blends of form and function.

I may be wrong, but I believe that Camilla Zelevansky, Studio Verte, actually designed the second floor addition on the home next to MPLWD town hall on Oakview. We have used her for our interior work and been happy.

Second Camilla Zelevansky, if she's the architect on Oakview. Everyone who wants to see architecture done right, especially additions that complement both the original building and the neighborhood context, should take a look at that house. It was built as a one-and-a-half-storey bungalow, probably in the 'teens or 'twenties. It was the only house on the block that was not at least two storeys. Only a few years ago the second floor was added. I grew up near there and was familiar with the original form of the house. When I was back in town visiting, my sister happened to drive me up that block, and as I perused the north side I went " Wait!!! What????????" The addition, raising it a full floor, was so perfect, with such thoughtful touches, that my sister had not realized there was any difference. Run (or bike or drive), don't walk, to admire this design and see if you don't agree this architect deserves all the business she can handle.

We used Bill Figdor and loved him. He saw so much more potential in our addition than we ever dreamed of.

His (Fill Figdor's) website is very impressive , both the art and architectural parts .

The commercial and residential took in so many points of view that were unique yet perfect for the space

Thank you all for your help. I have a lot of work to do!

Steve Majewski. He has done many gorgeous residential additions in the area.

sorry...duplicate post!

Camilla Zelevansky did indeed design the second story addition on Oakview...plus a ton of other projects in Maplewood and environs. She can be reached at cami@studiovert.net and has an office space on Ridgewood across from Milk Money.

Can anyone who has actually worked with any of these architects please PM me? I have questions about costs. Thanks.
