Looking for Tree Service

Hello, I live in the lovely town of Irvington (yea, I'm joking) and am looking for a reasonably priced tree service or an individual to trim down several trees I have in the front of my house. I also want them to remove all the cut branches from my premises. Can anyone recommend somebody? I am slightly disabled or I would attempt to do it myself. Thanks in advance!

Carew Tree Experts were doing some work on my street recently and I walked across and asked if they had time to cut some dead branches dangling ominously over my driveway. They did it after they finished their other job -- the same day, for a reasonable price, and did a nice job.

If the trees are in the berm between the sidewalk and street, it is the responsibility of Irvington to trim or cut down the trees.

If not, get multiple quotes as pricing can vary considerably....even from a company that was inexpensive the last time they did work for you.

Just used Trusty Tree -- very happy with the crew, responsive, and priced very fairly.

Let me add to this convo -- any recommendations for a true arborist, who can give an opinion on which trees really could be dangerous? Tree service guys are amazing, but I know they're not arborists.

Friendly Tree. John is very smart and truly loves trees - he is a true arborist. We found him to be knowledgable and passionate about his work. Very reasonably priced compared to others - especially when you consider the fantatsic service.

I just hired Pat at American Eagle Tree Service 973-967-0250. He hasn't started the work yet, but his price was fair and he was very knowledgable.

Second the Trusty Tree recommendation, they just did a great job for us, were reasonably priced and very responsive. Also left the yard quite neat!

Thanks for all the responses!

I believe that Maplewood Tree has an arborist on staff. I used them after I moved in to take down six (!) massive trees in my tiny backyard. I'd second kml's advice to get multiple bids. And I was able to negotiate a substantial cut in price from the November estimate when I called them back in February or March. I think those are very slow months for tree services (unless we get another super-storm this fall).

Carew they just did work at my house and did a great job!!!

Highly recommend Trusty Tree- professional, great price and reliable.
