Yes, we enjoyed it as well. My son tried a bunch of different things.
Yes...what a great event! I loved the drone demo...I think I was more excited than the kids. And I had to drag my 13 year old away from the Electronics/robotics and Minecraft tables.
Ack - sounds like I missed something good! Will keep an eye out for the next one!

Um.
Read my post. It's coming up April 30th! That's why I revived the thread.
This sounds great. I wish there was a little more information there and the links for sponsors and volunteers were not broken
The top link for volunteers is working. It leads to the volunteer for Achieve page, but scrolling down there is a section for maker madness.

I will let Ms Prinz know about the other broken links.
Somewhere, maybe on Facebook, I saw a posting from MakerMadness asking for donations of broken or not working electronics, phones, machines, even lawn mowers ... anything except tube tvs or CRTs.
Can someone in the know post the details and who to call to pickup or where and when to bring items ?
They will all be recycled or reused after the throngs of participants in the event get to take them apart and or put them back together.
@jude ? @optimyst if you are a CHS staff member, we got an email tonight
Yes please Where and when can we bring electronics for use on Maker Madness?
If you can, you can ask the front desk if you can bring them to room D200 (or call my room at x1155).a
No TV picture tubes -- might be unsafe for kids.
Thanks!! MrT
So apparently tapinto has the wrong date on this. It's Saturday from 10-4. NOT Sunday.
Have not been before. Is this a kind of event where I can drop off a couple of 4th graders on their own?
just came back. What a great event! Thank you to all who put this together!
The organizers did a great job, as did all the volunteers. My daughter had fun attending and I had fun running a station!
This was a really amazing event. We loved the variety of both activities and age-appropriateness. My 6-year-old found plenty to do and we could have stayed a lot longer than the hour and a half we were there. Congratulations to all of the organizers!!

I just wanted to thank Achieve, the organizers of the "Maker Madness" event held at CHS this last weekend. Even though it was tempting to stay outside in the beautiful weather, my daughter and I went and spent several fun hours creating and learning together. We have gone to the big NYC Makers Faire for several years and I actually think for my youngster this was exactly the right scale and intensity level. So, thank you! We can't wait to do it again next year!
