Lettuce
Funk, soul, jazz, rock, and hip-hop come together in one rich, flavorful dish that pays homage to James Brown while honoring longtime mentors like Tower of Power and Maceo Parker.
Amazing event. Year after year. Kudos to the small, fearless group of volunteers. Bravo!
Lettuce brought the funk. Every year I marvel about not just how good it is, and free, but how easy it is. It's barely five minutes from my house, we always get nearby parking, and always find a decent place to sit.
Another excellent day - even the rain went away!
Loved the variety of music. Thanks to the volunteers who made the tough decisions.
Our middle-aged group was happy to have ear plugs to dull the volume, but other folk did not think it was too loud so that is an "us" problem.
One request - is there some way to stop the stage lights from rotating and blinding the audience? We were really enjoying Lettuce, but then a new light pattern began and every 5 seconds a rotating light blinded us. Thankfully that was only for one song.
Looking forward to Sunday!
Not sure who was responsible for the senior/accessible canopies this year. It would have been nice if they had been labeled in some way and if they had included chairs. In the past, these canopies have provided seating for those unable to carry their own. That was not the case when I was at Maplewoodstock at about 1:30 pm on Saturday. I don't know if people took the chairs and moved them elsewhere or if there were no chairs put out at all. Hopefully, seating will be provided there today.

Thank you. i spoke with Brad Goldman this morning. He confirmed that the chairs were put out later in the day yesterday. A senior I spoke with today confirmed they were there by 4 pm yesterday. There were chairs in the senior tent this morning at about 10:30 am. However, there were no chairs in the adjacent accessibility tent at that time. When I checked back at about 2 pm, one person was in the all access tent in a wheelchair. Everyone else in that tent had to carry their own chair to use the tent. Can we consider providing chairs for both tents next year?
Wow! Another awesome day!
The "food court" definitely got 2 thumbs up this year. Everyone in our group found something they really enjoyed. Plus the prices seemed lower than last year.
Thank you for having tables under a tent with fans.
Arrive home a little while ago from Day Two. It was a fabulous weekend of music. Our grown children came this afternoon with their spouses and little ones, and everyone had a great time with the music and kids' activities.
Thanks, Maplewoodstock!
