Mock Trial at CHS?

My sophomore daughter is very interested in participating in a Mock Trial afterschool club at HS.

Who should she contact? When, where and how do kids sign up for these clubs? (I confessed to her that I do not have a clue.)

Other parents will know more details than I do, but I believe that initial meetings or signups for activities like this are usually announced in school after the start of the year. (And while my family has no experience with Mock Trial, our student thinks highly of Mr. Borkowski.)

You're welcome, kmk. I admire your effort on behalf of your daughter: If my teenager expressed an interest in developing his skills at arguing beyond what they already are, I'd be doing everything I could to sabotage it.

There is usually a clubs /activities fair on the first day (when the 9th graders are in the building without the other grades) , which 9th graders can get info on various clubs/teams/activities. Second what @daveschmidt said. Watch for flyers around the building and listen for announcements for the various club /team sign ups.

And upperclass students who are members of those clubs are at the various tables, so if your kid has an excuse to be there (member of some other group already?) she could probably check it out then, but there will certainly be opportunities after school starts.

One of the great things about CHS is all the student organizations and how much support there is for students wanting to start new groups.

I would think she should be able to walk into the office on any given day and get information from the staff on who she should get in touch with.

But everyone here is correct -- at the start of the year, they'll distribute a lot of information about clubs to get involved with.
