First of all, I am sorry you are going through this. Nothing is harder than seeing your child struggle. I too have had issues with my child with anger, depression, OCD issues and anxiety. I wanted to recommend a fabulous therapist to you. Meryl Pfeiffer is located in Summit and has helped not just my child but my husband and me. She can effectively assist children, teens and parents to find solutions to anxiety and attention related issues/concerns, among other issues. She listens to my concerns and her opinion and vast knowledge is always appreciated. My child has improved greatly under her care and I appreciate her use of CBT methods as well as talk therapy. Meryl has assuaged many of my worries and I am confident that she will continue to make strides with my child. Good luck to you. Here's a link to her site.
Hi, there. I am always so glad when I see someone take the step to look for a therapist for their child or themselves. It's a brave and wonderful thing you are doing. My name is Andrea Stefens, and I am a licensed creative arts therapist (NY-LCAT) and a registered drama therapist (RDT) with a lot of expereince in working with young children. I utilize drama, music, art, sand play, puppetry... many different tools and techniques that can make the process of guiding your child to new ways of understanding/expressing painful or scary emotions seem both interesting and fun. I have a private practice in Montclair and invite you to please email me if you'd like more information. Here is a link to my psychologytoday listing:

I'm looking for recommendations for local parenting classes and/or therapists. I am the parent of a younger elementary-aged child who struggles with anxiety and a strong temper at times. I would like to find more effective ways to support him, and could use some professional advice on the best course of action in helping him resolve some of these issues.
I'd appreciate any advice! Thanks
