Please recommend contractors for complete bathroom renovation

Help! We were working with a designer at Home Depot but have begun to have some doubts about their contractor and terms; has anyone had experience with them? And/or can anyone recommend someone who is reliable and good? We have to get the work done within a limited period of time, and need to set up the date very soon.We have much of what we want already picked out, but not yet ordered. Any help will be much appreciated.

I couldn't recommend Thompson Carpentry more.  They came highly recommended by many local clients (and friends), and we just used them to finish up several jobs in a home we renovated from top to bottom.  Eddie and his crews are everything you want in a contractor -- reliable, diligent, communicative, attentive -- skilled craftspeople all around.  If you're having doubts, I'd speak to a few other contractors and get estimates ASAP.  But definitely contact Eddie Oliveira at 973-985-9867 or eddie@thompsoncarpentry.net.

We used Thompson for kitchen and bathroom renovations and were also very satisfied.

@ladybug1:  I had the same experience as you, so I hired Mark Persaud of Mark Persaud Home Improvement.  I picked out all my own fixtures, tile, etc. from Home Depot; he provided all the construction materials and I got a gorgeous bathroom (8 years later I was told it was what really sold my house so quickly).  Search MOL for Mark Persaud to see all the other recommendations (and so I don't sound like a broken record).  973-698-1447.

advice.  Dnt use home depot or any of their contractors for anything.

John Clayton, advertiser.  Worked with him on many projects, I think he's got a couple of them on his business Facebook page.  Straight up guy, hard worker, trust him 100%, and there's only a few contractors I can say that about.  He jokes that I've worked with him enough I can price out his projects, and for stuff I know about - that's about right!

very helpful; thank you all so much!

Hi Ladybug1.
Which renovation contractors you hired? My colleague is also renovating her bathroom and she has hired the bathroom remodel San Jose experts by checking their services at this website. I checked their work and they are doing a great job.

I will too hire them if I plan for some home renovations in the future.

Creative Visionary Renovations 973-761-5730

Over the past 20 years Rick has done renovations in two of my homes: complete basement renovation, bathroom renovation, porch renovations.  I highly recommend him.  Highly competent, creative, fair/reasonable pricing, really nice guy.

I would go with a small owner operated contractor...Home depot isn't very picky on who they hire...sure may be skilled and just getting their foot in the door, but many are there just for a paycheck and have no pride in their work.

and a lot of HD products are crap, not real word, fake compressed )i don't remember what they call it), but the time that disintegrates when it gets wet.....not hard to do, a light ding and the thing starts disintegrating.

Please read my post, 10/12/18, in DIY about a new addition to the MOL menu re: a new menu addition to the MOL menu list: 'Recommended Contractors'...
