Rose alert

While leaving Vaux Hall Home Depot tonite, I spotted roses on a multi-story shelf in front of the store, outside the gated portion of the garden center. In tall tapering plastic containers,  with the top also covered (plastic) except for hole in center thru which bud union protruded.  Each w/ 4 or more reasonably substantial canes. Pot volume maybe 1 gallon, or slightly less. Didn't see roots poking out bottom of drainage holes of the 2 pots I turned over. I think "Vigoro" branded.

Maybe 15 different varieties. Most would/will not do well here w/o a constant chemical mist.   However, I did see Heritage, Royal Bonica, and Graham Thomas. I recollect $8.99 - or possibly $9.99, but not more.

Heritage does well for me, here,  in light challenged conditions. Several flushes; very healthy foliage with no or trivial blackspot (w/just single copper spray, before growth even begins in spring). Could be a small climber (NOT stretching).  I mentioned GT just because I was surprised to see it in this setting, not that I know it will do well here.
