Shuttle to the Annex????

Our son has been placed in a kindergarten class at the Annex while our daughter is in a class at the big school. The Annex dismisses at 2:30 and the Big School gets out at 2:40. Given difficulties with parking and distances, I can't pick up both children from their schools. The letter we received regarding our son says that there is a shuttle between the schools but that we need to get a pass.

Does anyone know how and where we can get a bus pass?

Transportation office. Sorry I don't have the number handy. Because of the shuttle , no parent should have to deal with trying to pick up and drop off at both schools , yet folks will complain about it. Depending on where you live, either both kids are dropped at the annex and the big school child is bussed to the big school or both children brought to big school and child is bussed to annex.

What I can't figure out is what i am going to do on Tuesday. I can't get a bus pass before school starts and I can't be in both places for pick up.

Also the shuttle leaves the Big School at 7:50 and the doors at the Big School open at 8:10. What do the siblings do for the 20 minutes in between when the weather is below freezing? Is there a heated classroom where they can wait?

on bad days they let the kids in. Most days the kids love playing before school.

Why are school buses not provided to transport these children home from school?

Not all households have a parent (and vehicle!) available during the school day to shuttle the kids.

Well, to start with the annex houses kindergarten and first grade. Kids can shuttle from there to the big school, but do you really think a first grader should take a bus home to an empty house? Second, the district busses kids if they live more than two mikes from their assigned school.

You don't want to know what the tax hit for universal busing would be.
