Dominion settles with FOX

$787M. They did get FOX to acknowledge some lies.

Pretty unfortunate for the truth. Guess they needed the money.

Hopefully SmartMatic hits Fox hard.

There are also irate shareholders.

"Fox, though, has to deal with shareholder lawsuits.

"A historically large settlement like this might mean Fox Corp., the parent company of Fox News, will have the headache of shareholders who will claim it overpaid.

"One shareholder filed a suit earlier this year in Delaware Chancery Court alleging the company breached its fiduciary duties by allowing the network to broadcast election lies in the first place, exposing it to litigation from Smartmatic and Dominion."

Here's Tucker Carlson on Friday, unaware that he wasn't going to be with Fox News by Monday (today).

"NEW YORK — April 24, 2023 — FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.

"Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named."

More and more sorry that the Dominion settlement did not require F to issue on-air corrections.  Without that, how will their hour-after-hour, day-after-day audience find out what happened?  Real news organizations print/issue corrections.

Maybe one of the other suits will come through with this?

Even when one of Fox's more "real news" anchors says things that directly contradict one of the "personalities" like Tucker, Sean, or Laura Ingraham, it doesn't register with the audience.
