To/from WFC: Ferry or PATH?

I may be doing a stint of work at the World Financial Center in the near future, so I expect to be taking a break from my usual Penn Station routine for a bit (yay!) and riding the Hoboken line. So I ask the regular downtown commuters: from Hoboken, is it preferable to take the PATH to WTC and walk back west (underground) to the WFC, or take the Ferry directly to the WFC? On first glance, the Ferry looks quicker but more expensive, but I'm wondering if there are any nuances or other insights into the commute in general. TIA.

My husband works at the WFC. Most of the time he takes the Path train, but if it's a really nice day he will opt for the more expensive ferry ride.
