With a BMW, the pricks are on the inside.
The first time I heard that joke it was about Saab drivers! LOL! Great jokes don't go away, they just adapt to the times.

I think the woman has been bullied enough, so it's fairly ridiculous to keep haranguing her to call the police.
It's over now. She doesn't wish to involve the police. Please leave her alone.

As a BMW driver (and, in fact one of a family of BMW drivers) I don't find comments such as these amusing. Why is it that you have no compunction about making disparaging comments about people based entirely on a brand they purchased? You haven't single out one person, instead you've made it about everyone who owns a BMW.
What if I did the same but cited a brand that is marketed to a more urban population? I'd be called racist, but you get to make comments based on perceived class? Sheesh.

For crying out loud, lighten up. I happen to drive a 2014 BMW and a friend told me the joke after I purchased it. I thought it was humorous and didn't take great offense. Sorry to have offended you, I'll make sure to never tell it again.

I also agree with the silliness of the BMW owner jokes. I also own a BMW (current value about $2500) and think the jokes just make the jokester look bad, not the BMW driver. My BMW is worth less than 95% of the cars on the road (totally pulled that statistic out of my..trunk). I might grant you miliraty-sized Hummers.

I happen to drive a military-sized Hummer! How dare you insult me like this -- just kidding
There are jerks driving all kinds of cars -- big, small, expensive, cheap -- being a jerk knows no boundaries..
FYI: Here's the BMW that rear-ended us on the Cross Bronx Expwy... She didn't wanna stick around for a cop... Her fault entirely... Don't ever try to tell me that BMW drivers aren't the most aggressive & over-entitled on the road.

BTW: Let's not forget all the hot-dogs driving VW's, who believe they are the "drivers" wanted in Volkswagon's "Drivers Wanted" ads.

Actually, she is not required to stick around for a cop. She is only required to furnish you with her driver's license, registration and insurance card. After that, she can leave if she wants.
To be fair, I've seen a55hole drivers in high end vehicles, I've also had drivers in high end vehicles go out of their way to give me the right of way, or when walking allowing me to cross the street. And both hold true for people driving beaters.
it's a silly notion that owning a vehicle is a personal trait. At one time I owned both a BMW and a Volvo station wagon. The wagon is generally considered the safest, stodgiest vehicle on the road. And yet, I was the same guy behind the wheel of the BMW as I was driving the suburban dad-mobile.
The OP had a serious safety concern for her friend initiated by some dude (I'm assuming) who was being a pushy, bossy, obnoxious, scary 'itch and yet this thread turns into the vehicles people drive that somehow make them this way. M'kay.
Many of us have had verbal altercations or crashes with all types of vehicles driven by all types of people. It's not the car, it's the person driving the car. One can be a dick driving a Kia or a BMW. We are all mature and rational enough to understand that point, right?
Considering the incident occurred more than 2 years ago, it's not that surprising that the discussion of it has lost some urgency.

At the risk of drifting from this drift: @Kibbegirl ...My own comments were/are solely culled from well-honed instincts about which demographics and/or emotional sets seem likely to drive which vehicles. I don't believe that a car can make one drive like a jerk unless the raw material's already there.
That said, after thirty years of road-raging in Volvo wagons (whose performance characteristics are best described as "stately"), I now drive a 2010 Outback. If you be hatin' on Subies next, we got a problem, yo... #;0)
