Trevor Noah to take over the Daily Show

I have to say I'm not a fan of his comedy stylings but it might be interesting to see how he grows in the role.

I'm disappointed Tina Fey didn't get the gig, though I have no idea if that was even in the cards.

Makes sense to tap a relatively unknown. It will be interesting to see what he does in this roll.

I agree! But since I don't know Trevor Noah, I should be open minded. Amy Poehler is very good, but Tina Fey absolutely kills.

My son, who is at UCB in the city, and a comedian himself, is pretty disappointed. I am out of town, so I don't have his reasons yet; I just woke up to his unhappy text! I hope he ends up doing well. Those are some mighty big shoes!

I think Tina Fey would be crazy to take that job - keeps you from doing pretty much anything else. I think her career is past that already. Trevor Noah has had a couple of funny bits on the show lately. Will be good to see what he can do. No one can ever replace Jon Stewart, really.

Tina Fey has no interest in that kind of job.

I think Fuller is hilarious! He brings in a cultural criticism angle which makes for rich comedic fodder.

Look, as a public figure, one should be more aware of what they're posting. I can believe that Ginger Ale is the worst tasting soda flavor, but I don't HAVE to share that with the public.

I prefer Welch's Grape Soda on occasion with good NY style Pizza (Roman Gourmet fits the bill). It's a nice complimentary taste.

To each his own. I LOVE grape fanta ... especially in Mexico and other countries (and very occasionally around here) when you can get the cane sugar version.

I think those tweets are pretty bad... and more importantly the jokes are just dumb, unredeemed by any intelligent insight or commentary. If you're going to sardonically use sexism or antisemitism in your humor, at least use it to reflect some truth. That's what makes it funny. The best of them (Tina Fey, Chris Rock, John Stewart) do that. This guy is just not a good writer.

Hadn't read about his anti-semitic comments until now. Disappointed to see these tweets too. I thought the bit I posted above was funny, and his delivery was funny. Too bad, but if they move forward with him, it will be the show's incredible writers doing most of the writing, not him.
