I've used Zedge and Mobogem. I have various ringtones for people and their text messages. I've also created my own using iTunes.
I've been using this surprise Ira Glass cameo from Bojack Horseman:

My ringtone is tied to the person calling. The default is the theme from Final Jeopardy! (I once was a contestant.)
But Daniel's is Daniel by Elton John, Suzanne's Suzanne by Judy Collins. My friend Dorothy's is Over the Rainbow and all my doctors are I Feel Fine by The Beatles..
I use Ringtone Maker...
I have a few that are person-specific, but my main ringtone is the sound of the TARDIS.
I found it as a .wav online somewhere quite awhile ago, then converted it to a ringtone file and installed it on my iPhone via iTunes.
This bit (1:38 in; apparently you can't link to a specific part of a song here) from a remix of Passion Pit's "Take a Walk," currently:

It's relatively easy to convert part of a song you like into a ringtone using iTunes, for free.
Before that, and I may switch back, the bit 1:27 into this Lily Allen remix:

Ringtone? That's so 2010.
I was going to mention that I don't think my phone has actually rang out in years, and I just keep it on vibrate, but I'd use the Imperial March from Empire Strikes Back if I did have one.

And where did you get it? Files welcome. Looking for new ideas!
ETA: *RINGtone..don't know how to change that!
