Where to pick someone up at Newark Penn Station? archived

I have a friend coming in to Newark Penn Station this afternoon and I offered to pick her up. It's been over a decade since I've been there and I don't remember well enough where to tell her to go to wait.
Can anyone suggest a good side for me to pick her up and directions to give her to get from train platform to outside? She's coming in on an Amtrak train. I'd rather not park, but I'll do that if it is easiest.

With some friends I might play it by ear, but with this one I'd feel better with a plan.

Thanks
There's really only one good place to pick up without parking. You're looking for Raymond Plaza West, the street right in front of Penn Station. Heading in from Maplewood, you'll be heading east on Market & will turn left at the light right before you'd go under the tracks. There you will find a lane for taxis and another part for cars. They aren't too picky about where you go.

As for directing your friend, coming off the trains there are signs directing travelers to the station. Once in the station there are signs directing to the main lobby/ticketing/information. All lead to the place to go outside to find Raymond Plaza West.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know.
