With Apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan

I have a mighty button and no problems with my penius

I have no time for television, golf or social media

Great old school jazz at The Woodland this afternoon!

Although, I thought it was going to be a new version of the Mikado, and The List....

Imagine what W.S. Gilbert could do with our current political environment! Of course, he also wrote "When everyone is somebody, then no one's anybody!"  Maybe he was anticipated our twittery state of affairs! cheese

(Are there a good number of Savoyards around MOL? That would make me so happy!)

Some years ago and I don't know if they still exist was a dedicated group I think called the Blue Hill Troupe or Group.  There was also a group on the upper east side in NYC.

Blue Hill  Troupe, and they are still performing. Proceeds go to charity--usually one G and S and one something else a year. I've been a few times; performance venue is the auditorium at Museo del Barrio.

The Upper East Side group might have been Dorothy Raedler's American Savoyards - used to go and watch their shows in the 1960s. My college had a G&S Society, so I got to do 4 of the operettas in the four years I was there, which was so much fun! Did a few shows in the chorus of VLOG, and saw the D'Oyly Carte troupe on one of their visits here (1966? 68?) but they have disbanded now. No one seems to be doing much G&S, and if they do, it's always Mikado, Pirates or Pinafore. Yeoman and Iolanthe were my favorites. Reading the libretti, I am amazed at how much esoteric trivia Gilbert managed to fit into his rhymes - and they always make me smile (except for his treatment of the elderly, love-starved contraltos, but that says more about Gilbert's private quirks than anything else!) Sorry for the digression....I don't often get to chatter about G&S.

Don’t apologise - we need more intelligent G&S in our lives anyway, and these times privilege plenty of fodder for the improvisational updating that keeps performances fresh!

I know that a Gold Coast ‘little theatre’ company did Iolanthe in the last couple of years; doesn’t help you though...  (In the last couple of years, Australia has had a few untimely deaths that robbed us of gifted G&S performers. It’s a bit bleak just now)
