I called inquiring about their school for my 3 year old for Fall enrollment. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very nice but informed me that the Russian language is a large focus in the school. She said that most of the children come from families where Russian is spoken at home. We settled on The Children's Academy in Springfield.
My kids enjoy their summer camp, which is chess in the morning and optional afternoon swimming at the Springfield pool. Haven't done other kinds of instruction, but my kids have become better chess players and enjoyed their time there. The people that run it are nice and speak English in the summer chess program.
ETA: I wonder if the above comment refers to their pre-school program, which may be different than their enrichment classes for school-age kids.
We have done pre-school, camp and chess there. It is a Russian owned business, and the style of teaching is "Russian style"- (we are partially Russian family, apologies for any political incorrectness). Chess is taken seriously, and my children started learning it there in pre-k. We start every school year w my eldest taking chess, but we never get past 1st half of year, as it is too rigid for him, and he eventually tires of the workload, and one teacher in particular is very cranky if you do not keep up There is lots of repetition and homework pages every week. Saying that, both my children are more advanced than I am (not saying much about me, but my youngest is 5). If you enroll your child, they will definitely learn a lot, just be prepared for really devoting time to it.
