May I also suggest, in return but not related to this category, Cleverman? Aussie superhero series based on indigenous Dreaming stories, created by a writer who wanted his son to be proud of his heritage. It's slow at first and difficult to follow all the themes, but they come together and are very topical. There will be a second season.
