"anything apple" - well, ipad really, and open for anyone to ask questions

I just spent another 2+ hrs with apple chat.  We couldn't get my photos to sync as part of another attempt at restore... Different kind.  They're trying to reload the system which would theoretically restore original function.

This particular iPad is a reurb.  I bought it 2.5 yrs ago, and haven't had need for certain functions till now.  I have no idea if there were issues when I got it or some sort of recent development.

I have another idea.  I also have another chat session tentatively set for tomorrow or whenever.

I recall thinking of this before but I don't know if it would work.  So I just copied and pasted from my Notes into my email and sent it to myself.

WORKED!!!

Now I'll just import into notes on desktop a/o print from email.  Ok for 20-30 pages, but going to be a pita for 100+ photos.

got the new printer. Been 6 years since I connected a printer and the instructions seem to rely  on pictures with just a few words to go with them.

What do I have to do to get the Canon disk to appear on my desktop? It went in and then I had a tough time getting it out.

Ugh!

You may have a problem with your DVD drive. They die after a few years. But you don't need the DVD. Download the driver for your printer from the manufacturer's web site and run the program that is supplied. This will tell your computer to set itself up for the printer.

I thought I did that. But there is no indication that the Canon is in my system preferences! I must have missed a step

I think I downloaded the driver, but it appears no where! gulp

Look in your Downloads folder.

Ipad2 took a fall last week and the screen has gone dark.  I can hear it start and stop charging and the camera shutter, but the display is completely black.  Does anyone think there is any hope here?  Thanks!

Replacement via ebay below--in case repair is high.

I have iPad 2(refurb) also; so I'm watching what you do.

Ebay page for replacement; some(more expensive) listings come w/ warranty.  New in box should be OK-  refurbs can be a bit of a gamble.
