I have been surprised at how little has been done to commemorate the date. I've been downloading pictures, of Alice Paul and Lucy Barnes.
The parade was a few years before but it made the point. I'll just deposit a few here.

NJ was the only state to allow women the vote in those early years after the passage of the Constitution, a privilege that was taken away in a political maneuver reminiscent of the partisan redistricting that goes on today.
In Maplewood, Committeewoman Nancy Adams announced this, according to the Township Committee minutes sent out today: August 18th is the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment. There will be a virtual watch party and discussion of Knock Down the House at 7 p.m., with the link to be found on the SOMa Celebrates Women Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/groups/somawomen/
(The Anniversary actually takes place on 8/26, as far as I've been able to determine. Perhaps 8/18 was when the amendment was put forward for a vote.)
I saw my first Women's Equality flag today on a Maplewood house. The excitement and awareness is out there.
Ah! Figured it out. The 19th Amendment was ratified today, but certified on 8/26.
FYI - a panel discussion centered around the movie "Iron Jawed Angels" (good movie with a horrible modern soundtrack)
Oh, cool, EBennett! I was thinking watching "Iron Jawed Angels" would be a good way to celebrate Women's Equality Day on 8/26. Another good way would be to email our Congressional reps and ask them to start working on passing the ERA again.
And thanks, Morganna, I wasn't familiar with the story of Inez Boissevain.
I LOVE Iron Jawed Angels and let my students watch it. We then made banners, had a parade and in a classroom re-enactment of the vote, my suffragettes gave yellow roses to our congressman who they convinced to support the amendment.
I am pretty stuck on the Everything is Everything Mary J Blige song during the march. Check it out.

WOW thanks for sharing this.
She needs a film centering on her life and work. Incredible human being. Eva Green should play her.
All I have to say is that it will be the women's vote that saves us from 4 more years of Trump
White males in America have gone off the deep end.
