Call from eldest 46 yr old son

Very hopeful! My son is aware of clinical trials through his wife's family who are very involved. He is truly blessed and all information form his drs and families will fight to keep him healthy. Thanks for the ongoing hope!

The MM Research Foundation (www.themmrf.org) is a great resource for patients and families and runs tons of clinical trials; they're very involved in treatment development. The best of luck to your son ---

Thanks lixouri. My son's Sil's Mil is a huge contributor to this foundation. He has been made aware of it. I can not express strongly enough how truly blessed he is to have all of the support he has. He is a fighter and is taking on this challenge. May others be blessed by his achievements.

Just got off the phone with son going through his second chemo treatment. He still feels no side effects. Huh. His best friend sent him a two week supply of fresh direct food for he, wife and 4 kids. He can' eat sugar, bread, white stuff including dairy. Yet his dr gives him one day off each week and he has chosen sat to have his Starbucks coffee, egg sandwich WiTH bread and whatever else he wants until he feels sick. The drs actually told him to eat as much as he wants on this day and it doesn't count until he feels sick. I like these drs. They also allow him one glass of wine per day.

His full body cat scan did show formations of holes (not tumors) in his bones and in his skull. So he does have the desease. It is a riddle why his sister only 16 months younger than him, grown up in the same environmental conditions as him, shows no signs. Some get it and some don't.

"This is Life." as your wise Mother told you long ago. I agree with her. I have gone through some challenges in my own life which have taught me to be grateful for each day and hopeful for my future but it is never an easy life-lesson to learn. Your family has much to absorb with this latest sobering news but he does have hope, being treated by top docs and with many praying for him… all this

You got that right critter. I'll pass that on to family. Sean is a huggable bunny!

Photo is not uploading let's see if song will.

Photo that accompanied song. Ach upside down
. Let's see if I can fix it

I don 't know how to express the joy of knowing him along with the tribulations of what he is going through. It breaks my heart. My other two children are *****s like me, we drink, we smoke. We are *****s. This one human being never participated in our evil ways. Oh gawd I am heartbroken that it is he and not the rest of us who have reason for a slap down.

It's a reason to grow, and triumph, and to learn personally how generous and kind others can be behind the rush and uncertainty of modern life.

Hang in there, and stay strong. If you have no reason to doubt that things are working out, then don't. Often the specialists will tell you that it takes a while before they can see just how effective their treatments are, because we still don't have the magic bullets to totally eradicate this kind of illness.

I expressed that to my son today as well. He is the strongest of us all to handle this. He is having a BBQ tonite atnd he and his family will do FaceTime tonite with me. May God continue to give him strength to battle this. Amen.

Thanks Joanne. I feel how sweet it is to be loved by you as well. >smile<

Enjoy your FaceTime chat. oh oh

I hope your FaceTime chat is wonderful, ootg! Sending you sweet cyber-hugs! ETA: I'm singing "How Sweet It IS To Be Loved By You'' for the rest of the day in honor of you, your son, your family's deep love and caring for one another. This will be my prayer for you today, singing this song in Faith and Hope and LOVE! :X

Ahh! Now it makes sense! The song didn't come through on the iPad.

Thanks Peggyc and critter. It is a peaceful time. It is my 67th birthday today. This is why my song was sent to me by this son and photograph. My other son and his wife sent me a beautiful, bouquet of flowers. My daughter and I will have lunch tomorrow. My phone is consistently ringing between them and expressing their caring love for me.

I am truly blessed, amongst all of our concerns for our eldest, we still enjoy how much love we give to each other. It is ongoing and always.

Happy birthday!!! How nice that your family pays so much attention on your special day.

Just thought I'd do an update for the record. For the last two months Sean has continued with twice a week chemo. His numbers have gone down significantly. This past week the drs evaluated him and he is in partial remission. He has the next two weeks off of chemo!

All of the love and dr care he has received has been working!

He is enjoying his health, his life, his family and friends and work. May his future hold bright promises for him.

Thanks everyone for being there for us when I go through my scary time.

For now, there is no scary time. Thank you!!!

Hah! partial remission. Thanks LL!

So good to hear. And can't wait to hear 'full remission'!

Thrilled for you and for everyone involved in his care, everyone who knows and loves him! Continued prayer. Thnx for keeping us updated!

Thanks justmelaura! "The best is yet to come and won't it be fine." :X

Thanks critter! Keep on keepin' on!

blank stare Happy dance definitely called for!!
